New Health and Safety Laws- …. Made simple.

There seems to be a bit of concern from small business owners and farming families in the Clutha district around the new Health and Safety legislation that comes into effect on 4 April this year.

Listening to conversations, most of the worry appears to be around what needs to be done, new penalties and who is liable for what.

We’ve decided to run an informal evening on Monday 14th March, 7pm at Garvan Homestead, to help unravel the gobble-de-gook and spell out what it all means in simple language.  The cost of $20 will include a light supper.

For most it will mean business as usual, but there are new responsibilities (for directors and key staff) and more engagement with workers and contractors is required… plus huge penalty increases.

For those who still don’t have any safety systems it may mean setting one up… but there are on-line options for doing this free of charge. (No need to buy a $1,200 folder that gathers pigeon poo in the workshop)

We don’t sell safety systems at Bluetrack but we can point you to the places to get them and help you understand and complete what is required.

We have limited spaces so contact us early to secure a spot.
